Irish Broadband, a subsidiary of NTR obtained a telecommunications licence from ComReg in July 2002 and commenced an aggressive network rollout in Dublin with customer connections from August 2002. Irish Broadband is totally focussed on broadband and all associated services including security and hosting. For many of our competitors, broadband is solely a small part of their product set, competing with other higher margin products. With Irish Broadband, your interests are our priority.
Irish Broadband is rolling out a state of the art wireless broadband network across the Dublin and Cork areas at present. "High Sites" form the building blocks of the network. Each high site comprises a tall building or mast equipped with a broadcast transmitter. Customers connect to the network using a small antenna on their roof. This antenna must be within line of sight of an Irish Broadband high site.
